The Best Ever Food Storage Chocolate Chip Cookie-Wheat Food Storage Recipes

The recipe I’m going to highlight is, no joke, called “Best-Ever Chocolate Chip Cookies” and comes from “The Essential Mormon Cookbook” by Julie Badger Jensen (Thanks Summer for the book!). I had heard some women raving about these cookies at a recipe exchange and wondered if I could sneak some wheat into the recipe. I figured it would work well since there is more brown sugar than white and lots of chocolate chips, so I gave it a try. They were FANTASTIC!! I can honestly say they are the Best-Ever Chocolate Chip Cookies, food storage and all! There is something about them, they almost melt in your mouth and are so ooey and gooey! Try sneaking wheat into this recipe, it is impossible to resist!

Hi Crystal! :) I just finished the dough for the Best-Ever Chocolate Chip cookies. However, I have never baked with whole wheat flour before. So, I used 1-1/2 C all-purpose and 1-1/2 C whole wheat. The dough turned out too dry and crumbly. Do you have any suggestions for me for additional moisture (i.e. possibly a little milk)? I hope I don’t have to start over. Oh, by the way, I put the dough in the fridge for now in hopes to hear from you soon. Thanks! :)

Did you use powdered eggs as well or just the whole wheat flour? That dough
is a little dry. Try baking just a few and see how it turns out.

I used the powdered eggs according to the measurement requirements posted. My eldest sister suggested maybe increasing the water to 1/2 cup when using 2T powdered eggs. But I will try your suggestion first and see what happens. Thanks! :)
