OH my gosh! Are you trying to kill me here!? I”m adding this to my grocery list too!!
Crystal! You are so talented. These look delicious. A perfect breakfast to make this weekend while the kids are out of school.
That is genius. Love it!
Yum! I cannot wait to make those! Thanks for sharing!!!
I might just be stupid…but did I miss when to add the pumpkin?
Cami,
No you are not! Thanks for noticing the recipe was not correct. It’s been corrected. Where would I be with out all of you! Multi-tasking with a baby can be tricky!

Is there a substitute for buttermilk?
I love this syrup! When I don’t have buttermilk, I just add a little vinegar (about 1 tbsp) to regular milk and let it sit before adding it, works fine. Those waffles look so good. Love your blog. Thanks for sharing your food storage know how!
Regarding the person who wondered about substituting for buttermilk: Mix 1 Tbl white vinegar into one cup milk and let stand for 5 minutes.
There is your buttermilk substitute! I do this all the time actually. I rarely buy buttermilk.
Marydale,
Wow! I’m so glad others came to your rescue before I could respond. You can also add 1 T. lemon juice (which is what I do) to 1 C. milk and let stand for 5 minutes as a buttermilk substitute.

What if I just want to use flour instead of wheat kernels?
Yummy!! Pumpkins & Caramel . . . you can't get much better than that!!
Jolynn,
I’m not sure what it would be for the blender recipe with flour. If you want to use a favorite pancake recipe just decrease some of the water and oil for the amount of pumpkin you put in along with the spices. I hope that helps!

OH My Goodness!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This recipe is incredible! My husband said it is the best thing he has eaten in a long time, hands down! The carmel sauce is super yummy, but regular syrup is great too! I can’t believe how great the wheat waffles with pumpkin in them are! Thanks for sharing this recipe. I am going to be sharing it will all of my friends and family! Thanks so much. Tara
I made these this week and I sliced up a banana and sprinkled chopped walnuts on mine before pouring on the syrup and it was SO delicious!
