Jolynn,

I'm not sure what it would be for the blender recipe with flour. If you want to use a favorite pancake recipe just decrease some of the water and oil for the amount of pumpkin you put in along with the spices. I hope that helps!

Crystal

Marydale,

Wow! I'm so glad others came to your rescue before I could respond. You can also add 1 T. lemon juice (which is what I do) to 1 C. milk and let stand for 5 minutes as a buttermilk substitute.

Crystal

Regarding the person who wondered about substituting for buttermilk: Mix 1 Tbl white vinegar into one cup milk and let stand for 5 minutes.

There is your buttermilk substitute! I do this all the time actually. I rarely buy buttermilk.

I love this syrup! When I don't have buttermilk, I just add a little vinegar (about 1 tbsp) to regular milk and let it sit before adding it, works fine. Those waffles look so good. Love your blog. Thanks for sharing your food storage know how!
