made the brownies for FHE-used 1/2 blk beans, 1/2 oil-yummy and no one knew, until I told them! I had too do it!!!
  • having trouble at the fun with food storage site and can't post comment site, so I want to try it here and see if it works - You guys are great! I downloaded the emergency plan checklist and am going to take a look at that. I am excited to start food storage this year. I like your baby steps because it seems a bit overwhelming and the first thing my husband said is the last thing we need to do is spend more money stocking up on stuff when we're trying to cut back our grocery budget. So, I'm looking forward to finding ways to do that here.
    Thanks for your great work!

Sorry for hijacking your blog comments for this. I like this idea of usinf the beans for baking. I am going to try this for sure.

I'm having trouble getting my email to you guys. It keeps coming back to me. I hope it isn't me. LOL Any ideas? Help?

I too made your brownies for FHE. I substituted half of the oil for pureed black beans. However mine turned out more like a cake brownie than fudgie brownies. What did I do wrong?
  • I just made the brownies (with choc chips instead of pb chips) for FHE tonight, haven't had FHE or the brownies yet, but got to taste them as I cut them up and they are YUMMY! My 5 year old even helped make them (after I'd pureed the beans) and he just thought it was melted chocolate! I think he'll love them, as he just likes a plain brownie (No nuts or extra flavors) and I'm excited for the protein and fiber he'll get from them!
    Thanks!
  • Thanks for a great brownie recipe. Looks amazing! Vikki www.survival-cooking.blogspot.com
