Love your approach and the time you take to help all of us. I got your book for Christmas and making the baked beans tonight but in the recipe directions it mentions bacon- it is not one of the listed ingredients- how much?

great idea for sauteing onions! I have found that I can even mix the dry onions in with my hamburger and then form patties and the onions will rehydrate from the steam created while the burgers cook. I thought the burgers tasted great, and I didn't hear any complaints from the peanut gallery, either!

The part I liked best about this post was your comments about organizing your TIME. I love your recipes. I am good at getting food on the table on time....but not being able to accomplish activities WITH the family in the evening. Please continue to open my eyes to finding more time with my family while cooking great meals on a budget!!

I'm excited to try the sauteed onion this way. I love how using dried food is less mess and work...I just love it. What a great post about turning your food storage into a meal.

Crystal,
It was so fun talking to you at Costco today! That website I was referring to is www.ourbestbites.com (with the frosting from a white sauce base).
Thanks for signing my book. I'm anxious to start using it!
