My food storage is growing by leaps and bounds….i am not sure how to use all of it! This book would be a great help.

  • mom2hrz

I have learned much from you and I am sure that by having a copy of your book, I could learn even more!

  • Pamela Laurie

I would love to have a copy of your book. I have been working on our food storage for about 1 year and feel we have enough to last close to a year. I don't Facebook or anything like that. I feel it is a waste of time and you have no control over what is put on it, as I have seen other people's account and there have been terrible pictures sent to them. I have 8 children and 4 at home still. I want to set a good example before them of self control and purity. So this will be my only enter in to the drawing. Thanks!

  • Mindy

You guys have done a great job making Food Storage something anyone can do! I like your book…it's a great “Get Started here” guide to an often overwhelming task! I'd love one for my DIL's!

  • http://juliaintheraw.wordpress.com/ Julia

I would LOVE a copy of your book! I'm a momma of 7 kids and we are working on improving and using our food storage this year! I'm excited to learn more! Thank you!

I have food storage for my son (medical food by prescription) now I need to work on the rest of the family. Since it's not quite as easy as getting shipments while he's in the hospital I need some help and a place to get started.

  • lauriejones

I teach homemaking/food storage classes (Proverbs 31 Women) to the ladies here in North Central Ohio. I highly promote your book to my class members. It is the best cookbook around. I bought them for my daughters for Christmas presents and I give them as gifts!

  • deannh03

I love all the tips on the site, but I'm the kind of person who needs something in paper on the counter. LOL I've already printed out so much stuff, having the book would be GREAT!

  • sandeewest

This is such a great book! I have taught Food Storage classes highlighting this book as well as lent it out (which has resulted in folks wanting their own copy) – I give it as gifts and now am entering to win another copy to replace mine which is starting to get stained and fall apart.

  • Deanna E.

I've been wanting to try the book – it looks great!

  • Vanessa R.

My hubby is a food storage man and he would like me to become his food storage gal <3

I could really use this book. Working hard to update our food storage (we've had 3 more children since the last time we bought wheat!) and need to know how to rotate it and use it everyday!!!

  • http://www.karenscookies.net/ Karen

I've been reading your blog since pretty much the beginning– can't even remember who told me about it, but I have tons of your recipes from the blog printed off, and would love to have them in a nicer form. :) As one who lived off of food storage for nearly a year (most of 2008), I know a little about cooking with food storage, but there is ALWAYS more to learn, and new recipes to try. Thanks Crystal! I've told lots of friends and family about your blog.

  • Diana

I have a desire to build a food storage and use it, but I don't know where to start. I would really love a copy of your book. Our tight budget right now, doesn't allow for any extras. I'm saving for a copy though, so of course it would be great to win a free copy.

    THanks! Love your website

  • http://day2daywithhollyj.blogspot.com/ Holly

I have been wanting to get more into food storage but I always feel so overwhelmed just thinking about it! Your website has definitely helped out some and I am sure this book would help me out even more! Thank you for all of your hard work! Keep it up! :)

  • http://abbyscraft.blogspot.com/ Abigail

I want this book because I have no idea what to do with my food storage! I mean, yes, I can cook beans and rice, but beyond that, i have no clue! Growing up our food storage just sat in the garage and was never used (beyond beans and rice). So I need to learn!

  • Shannon

I'm working hard to build my food storage….it has been a little scary because it is so overwhelming to figure out what to do with all of that food! Your web site has been such a great help to me…thanks so much! I would absolutely love a copy of your book. I have checked it out from the library and renewed it as many times as I could because I use it so often. It seems to answer any question I have! I don't facebook or twitter so this is my only entry, but I would sure love the book!

  • Joyce

I own your wonderful book and use it all the time! My sister and I do everything together…including food storage. She doesn't have a copy of your book and I would love it if she did. Then maybe…I would be able to keep my copy at home! LOL!
Thanks for giving my book the hope that it might get to stay home:)

Thank you for writing a book like ths! I have some “old-fashioned” books about food storage that have good information, but a new, modern book would be SOO nice!

  • stephanie

have lots of food storage, but don't know how to REALLY use it and make it taste good in a real life emergency. I would love any help I could get, and your book seems to be calling me.

  • Heidi

I've learned so much on the website, but I still have the book on my wish list. It'd be nice to have all the information about food storage at my fingertips.

  • Christine

As I'm sure it is for other people who have commented, food storage is not only a way of life I'm trying to adopt, it's my calling! I would love to have your book to help me figure out the best way to use it and rotate it now that I've got it!

  • Marne

I would love to win your book! You are amazing when it comes to food storage and your knowledge would really help me get going!

  • rindee

I've been a fan of your website since before you moved from blogspot. I've tried many of your recipes and when your book came out I was so excited. If I had your book, I could throw away all the loose papers I've printed off from your blog! It's been on my wishlist since before it was available to sell. I would LOVE to win your book!

  • shelisemayer

I already use my food storage very regularly but I would love to have a book to help me use it even more. You have given me some great recipes and really are the one who made using my food storage exciting. There are so many possibilities. I think my families favorite thing is making applesauce out of dehydrated apples. They LOVE it.

  • lynncrapo

I LOVE THIS book! It's so easy and simple to use and I have all the ingredients in my food storage now, so I can REALLY use it.

However, my two daughters could really use it as well……..and WANT one of their own…….but I can't give up my signed copy. ; D So I hope I can win one for them.

    Thanks!

  • http://www.nolongerconforming.blogspot.com Shelly

  • http://instinctualbirth.blogspot.com/ Toni

I'd love to read this book… we have a family of ten with very limited storage space where we live. I am at my wits' end trying to figure out how to put food by to feed us when times get lean. We have a very tight food budget and try to raise some of our own when we can.

  • aliciaquigley

I'm just starting getting my food storage together and a little overwhelmed. I need all the help I can get. I would love this book!

I'm just starting getting my food storage together and a little overwhelmed. I need all the help I can get. I would love this book!

  • http://www.dontblink18.blogspot.com Becky

Why I want it? Simple: you inspire/inspired me! Before someone introduced me to your blog I felt food storage was so unattainable and useless. Since “meeting” you, I have started making my own bread, I've made the hot pockets multiple times, and have also learned from you fridge and cupboard organization. I keep trying your new recipes as time permits so having the real cookbook would be the best so that I can just use it as a nightly dinner maker! Thanks for offering your website to us and sharing your awesomeness.

I have one of your books and I love it. I have 7 sisters and 5 sister-in-laws that would definitely benefit from your book as a gift. My budget does not allow for buying them all a book so winning this book would help me get started. I think all women (and men) should learn these helpful tricks especially in these economic times. Thanks for all you do!

  • kimberlymyers

Food storage has always been a passion of mine. I am always adding to it and wanting to learn more. I watch all of your youtube videos and love them! I know your book would be an asset to my education on food storage. Also April 11th is my 40th birthday. What a wonderful gift it would be for me!!!!

  • mrspear

I would love to read your book! I am just starting to prepare my family for life in general to hit. I have always prepared for the big things – birth of children, small stash for illnesses, when my oldest daughter had open heart surgery in January. But now I want to be more prepared for life in general because you rarely get a memo in advance letting you know to get ready.

Plus we are moving and I would like to do a much better job in our new state as I prep for the issues they might have!

  • Sandy Sheffield

I bought 3 of these books: one for my daughter and daughter-in-law and I was supposed to keep one. I ended up giving it away for a birthday present to a dear friend. So, now I need one for myself. So, please pick me!!!

With food allergies in the family, food storage and cooking with food storage has been a struggle. Our youngest son can't have any milk or soy products. I can't do MSG, At least one in our family seems to have Glueten intolerance…we're investigating that…Also, from what I have been reading, things like Brown Rice don't store for very long…Always looking for receipes and new ideas…
we've been living alot on food storage this last year (Hubby out of work) and we struggle with “Appetite fatigue”. You're site has some great stuff and I am checking it out as time allows.

I have been reading your blog since I found your French Bread recipe video on youtube a little while back (it worked great, btw, thank you). I would love a copy of your cook book so I can work on even more recipes. I am trying out recipes right now to have some simple ones on hand to make for my own family and I appreciate how you *show* us here how to do it. Food storage is really great–inexpensive and like having a store in my house…no last minute run to the store. I also have 7 lovely sisters-in-law and 2 sisters of my own who like recipes, it would be fun to share this with them, too!

  • Michael

My daughter is moving to the only remaining district in the LDS church in the U.S. (South Dakota) and really needs this book to practice food storage in a bigger way. Certainly, I could use this book, but she could use it more. Thanks, Michael

I'd love to have a copy! Thanks for the chance to win.

  • Mary W.

I LURVE food storage! I sleep with it, share it with my friends, smell it, play with it, dream about it, dance with it, build a fort with it, use it for self-defense, play hide and seek in it, barter with it, roll it down hills, create mazes with it.

However, I do not eat it. I need help!!

  • preparedteacher

It is so great to see that many people are trying their best to get prepared. I also love that you are willing to give away a few copies of your book ( money out of your pocket) to give the chance for those ( including myself) who at this time are using every spare dime to go towards their (our) storage, thus leaving nothing for buying the book/ or any book on how to cook for our families. Thank you so much teaching us all how to be prepared, and cook.

  • Mesha

I need a copy as does my sister–she just doesn't know it yet. I'm always looking for new ways to use old standbys. . .isn't that part of what food storage helps you do?

  • Sarah Weiss

I'm an avid blog reader and have always wanted your book, but right now I'm using the money to stock pile my food. It would be great to get the book for free!

I already have your book, but it would be so fun to have an extra to share with the Relief Society sisters to inspire them.

  • hecfino68

I would love, love, love a copy of your book. I have been bitten by the food storage bug and need to learn what to do with it all—except build furniture with it. Thank you for your website!!

  • hecfino68

I convinced my friend to buy a ton a wheat, and I have been nagging her to buy food on sale. I moved before I could show her how to do anything with it but make bread. I would love to send her your book, because I know it is all going to just sit there if I don't give her a way to use it.

  • hecfino68

I nag my mother to get food storage. When she came down to visit, I showed her how to make bread, blender cheese cake, and using powdered milk to make canned milk and evaporated milk. We live so far away that I don't see her very often. She is the type that has to been shown or have a simple easy recipe to follow. I love your book because it is easy to follow. It doesn't sound scary or intimidating. I would love to send one to her for her birthday that is coming up.

  • hecfino68

My sister has 43 buckets of wheat sitting in her basement that has never been touched. She also has a ton of food from the cannery that she has never tried. She is of the mind set that it is there for an emergency only, but I think she just has no idea what to do with it. I would love to send her your book and show her how she can use her food storage everyday.

  • Ellie

I have loved the recipes I have gotten from your blog. I'd love a copy of the book so I have them in one easy place even if the computer isn't turned on. I think I can safely say that I use food storage items every day and many of the ideas or recipes have come from your blog. Thanks!

  • amberhill

I would LOVE this book! I'm obsessed with using my food storage these days, but need creative ideas. I especially want to try using more beans in my recipes since we have a ton of beans stored

  • McKell S.

I would absolutely love your book. I've used many of your recipies not because I have a large food storage but more because they work and taste good :) I would love to have your complete collection!

I'd love one. I'm our ward emergency prep/food storage specialist and I'd like to try out the book so that I can recommend it–I don't recommend anything until I've had first hand experience with it. Also, I'd love to give one to my sister-in-law who has no storage other than a few cans of whole potatoes!!!

I just found out that a new friend ( daughters baseball coach) is so into learning to be self sufficiant, gardening, and wanting to try food storage. and has began to read great books on information however I asked him ( yes it's a guy, COOL) if he has heard of your site or your book and he said NO!, oh goodness I can't believe that so what did I do, told him to book mark this site and the sister sites. Now one day later he is talking to me about how excited he is in getting started for his family. I am so excited to be helpful to others and now I have a person to talk with about one of my favorite subjects……Thanks for your site.

  • martha

You have been a big reason why I am using my food storage, in fact my ward wants me to teach on it and your book would be SOOOhelpful.

  • teresalove

The hardest thing to get people to do is not to collect food storage, but actually use it. I think many people I know just don't think that they can make good meals out of food storage. I'd just love to prove them wrong!!! OK, it's not revenge, just aggressive helpfulness!

  • kara

It would be a great addition to our family. I have 5 children and am trying to teach teh importance of food storage and preparedness. having this useful tool to help me learn to use my food storage would be awesome.

  • Jen B.

I checked out your book from our local library. It's awesome! Would like to have my own copy so I can dribble on the pages and not feel guilty. Thanks for all the effort you put into food storage sharing!

  • grace116

I love the idea of using wheat in the blender without grinding it first. I am eager to learn more. It seems like everyone enjoys watching your videos as much as I do because you are a natural at it. Learning from each other is what it's all about. Blessings!

I would love to have your book to help me use my food storage.

    Dear Crystal-
I was so excited when I read that you would be giving away a copy of your book. I don't have it yet, but I NEED IT! 'Why' you ask? Well, let me tell you a little bit about my husband Dave.
We were married 4 years ago. Anxious to become the perfect housewife, I enthusiastically prepared a delicious home-cooked meal every night. When I say 'delicious' I mean that I thought they were delicious. After a few months of my “tried and true” recipes I decided to ask my husband what he REALLY thought of my cooking. The answer: it was a little bland. I appreciated his honesty and vowed to pop out of my cooking comfort zone. I found your website about a year ago and decided to put your recipes to the test. The result: THE HUBBY LOVES THEM ALL! There is not a single dish I have made that hasn't resulted in a “Honey, this is awesome!”
One of Dave's favorites are your homemade flour tortillas. When I make them he asks me to triple the recipe so he can eat them all week long. Another one of his favorites is your cinnamon rolls. They were delicious the first time I made them, but I have been practicing and, I must say, your recipe and my effort have resulted in, quite possibly, the best cinnamon rolls we have ever tasted. I made them for Conference Sunday last week and, after one bite, my husband responded with an eye-roll of pure pleasure and a “Sweetie, you rock!” Needless to say, I was tickled pink! :)
And so you see, I need your delicious-recipe-filled-book so I can keep my hubby and his tummy happy and full!
    Thank you,
    Kristen

I would love a copy of your book. I did not grow up in a house with food storage, so now that I've started my own I am learning most of this on my own. More recipes that directly incorporate my storage would be very helpful. Most of my friends and family think I've gone ever so slightly off the deep end, so I appreciate all the encouragement and information you provide!

Your website is awesome! I love using food storage!!! It just makes me excited thinking about it. I have really loved getting into cooking more this past year. I just became a stay at home mom in the last 9 months and have enjoyed honing my homemaker skills. I would love to learn more tips that you have from your book! Please choose me!

I used a pressure cooker for the first time a couple of days ago. It isn't scary at all. Would love to continue learning new ways to use food storage and think your book would be a great tool to help me with this process. Thanks for all you do.

Crystal, I think owning your book would only enhance everything you are teaching on here. There are so many ways you teach us to use your food storage – everyday. Like the dehydrated vegetables (onions), I had some in a little container from the dollar store called “onion flakes”, and NEVER knew these were the same as dehydrated ones. Just thought they were onion flakes. Hardly ever used them, because I didn’t know what to do with them. Then you taught us how to use milk, eggs, vegetables (all kinds)…I am so amazed at the way I am “re-thinking” my recipes, using your ideas and food storage food. I WOULD LOVE TO WIN YOUR BOOK! Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
