I am enjoying your back to basics series. How many gallons of milk can be made from a #10 can of LDS Cannery non instant powdered milk? I was going to buy just a #10 can to try it out with my family before I buy a 25 lb bag. Also can you share what else you exclusively buy at an LDS Cannery? I am looking forward to your next powdered milk instruction. Thank you for this series. Emily

  3. Emily says:

Is there a reason you use the #10 cans instead of the pouch?

  4. Annette says:

Emily, Some people go with the cans because you can reseal them with the plastic lids from the cannery. If you buy the pouch, you would transfer it to another container that would keep moisture out.(just a thought)

Emily , Here is the website to go to for the LDS cannery http://www.providentliving.org click on Home Storage Order Form Download I hope this helps

I have a baby that is on whole milk but have always assumed I cannot feed him powdered…is this true? What do you do for kids who need the fat?

  7. eatfoodstorage says:

Feed them whole milk. ;) In an emergency situation you may want to store
evaporated milk which would still have the fat.

I tried the trick with sugar and vanilla…it's GREAT! I have lots of Morning Moo but will still use it up but won't buy any more once its gone! Great information…THANK YOU

Crystal, in your video on magic mix, you mentioned that you were going to use the sauce in your alfredo for dinner that night…after you have the sauce thickened and bubbly, what do you do to it to make it taste like alfredo sauce?
    thx,
    Sandy
