If ye are prepared….ye shall not fear!

I know a lot of people are getting worried with a lot of news time being dedicated to the Swine Flu. It can seem scary and full of panic to watch what they are saying on the news but there is no need to panic! These type of scenarios are a good time to evaluate where we are with our preparedness both food storage and emergency. I would suggest to use this as a good warning to get our houses in order since we won’t always have the news to warn us when something is coming. But remember, it doesn’t have to be done all at once! PLEASE Don’t Panic! The church has a GREAT information about how to prepare for a pandemic, please read it over and prepare for anything that may happen soon or not so soon because after all, if ye are prepared, ye shall not fear! It is a wonderful blessing from the Lord and I the same blessing for you and your family! I know I’ll be spending the next couple of days re-evaluating what I have on stock and how prepared I am.

Augh! I’m so excited. I just got my FIRST book signing scheduled. So if you’ll be in the Layton, UT area…I want to meet you! Saturday, May 9th at the Deseret Book in the Layton Hills Malls from 3-4:30 p.m. Bring a couple questions, the book you’ve already purchased or pick up a copy while you’re there for me to sign! Sorry for the lack of posting. I’ve been so busy with the final details of my book giveaway scheduled for next week! Yes, it is really happening and I’m so excited! ”I Can’t Believe It’s Food Storage” is chalk full of recipes (over 100!), family home evening lessons, and a simple step by step program for using food storage in your own recipes! Check back on Monday for all the details of how to purchase a book and how to enter the giveaway!

Thank you for all of the questions and concern about my book! It got a little delayed because they decided to change the size of the book to add in even MORE recipes. The good news is that it was sent to the printer on Tuesday! YEAH!!! That means it will be available for purchase in just a few short weeks (or hopefully SOONER). Stay tuned for information on how to pre-order a copy and keep asking about it at your local LDS bookstores to find out when they’ll be getting their shipments in…

Don’t worry…the video is still coming. I’m just having some technical difficulties. On another note, I read a comment saying that my book is available for pre-order on Amazon.com and that someone bought it. I just wanted to let you know that it’s the wrong book! There was a mix up with the publisher and that is for a different book. If you’ve already purchased one, please return it. Don’t worry, you’ll see the information on my website FIRST on how to pre-order the book (which will be coming really soon!)

Check back this afternoon for a post on how to shape hamburger buns. I was busy all day yesterday doing my FINAL EDIT for the book! YEAH!!! That means it will be out really soon!

You may notice that things on my site have moved around and trust me, it’s all for the better! I’ve done some spring cleaning and organized all the information to be easier to find (plus added some new stuff!). Make sure you click on the “Start Here” tab as well as the “Training: Cooking” tab to see what’s changed and where I’ve added more information to make your lives easier. So take a few minutes and peruse the changes and make sure you read the post from today for a great FHE lesson for St. Patrick’s Day.
